From Mr. Dave:

Hello Hello All,
I hope everyone had a great summer and is looking

forward to our final year with Pack 247.  My goal this year is to
have every scout achieve their Arrow of Light and all 20
Webelos badges.  To accomplish this I need to ask all scouts
and parents to communicate with me about any achievements
that are completed at home.  I have a basic outline for what I
want to do this year at den meetings and will need everyone to
         complete some tasks at home.

Some scouts already have the required number of badges
for their Arrow of Light and the others only needing 1 or 2
more.  We will be covering the other requirements at den
meetings.  I will also schedule a night to attend a Boy Scout
troop meeting with Mr. Jeff and Troop 247 for our final
         requirement.

The task of achieving all 20 badges will depend on the
scout.  Some are well on their way to getting all 20 and others
have their work cut out for them.  If you are behind and want
to get caught up talk to me and we can figure out what you will
need to do.  I can talk to the Webelos 1 leaders, Mr. Jim and
Mr. Chris, to see if they are working on it or Joseph, our den
         aide, can work with you.

We also need to determine when we are going to do our
Arrow of Light Ceremony and our Bridging Ceremony.  Looking
at the calendar the Best option is the Arrow of Light at the Blue
and Gold on February 22nd and the Bridging Ceremony at the
meeting on February 26th.  Our other options are the Arrow of
are the Arrow of Light at the January pack meeting and the
Bridging at the Blue and Gold.  If we choose the January pack
meeting I will rearrange the schedule so we can have our puppet
show for the showman badge at the December pack meeting
and push our Artist badge to the extra weeks in February that
I was going to use for anything that was last minute.

Two things that you will notice are missing from the
calendar are the Pinewood Derby and Cabin Camping.  These
events are scheduled for after we bridge to Boy Scouts but we
have been invited to participate if we are able.

Other than that, I just want to thank everyone in advance
for another great year and I appreciate all of the hard work you
and your parents will be doing this year and have already done
over the last four years.  We will again be meeting on Thursdays
nights at 7:00 at Seven Oaks and remember the best way to
contact me is by email but call me if you need to.

         Thanks for everything,
         Mr. Dave
